About the Role
As a Network Implementation Engineer, you will support the deployment, maintenance, and operation of Google’s private global data network. The role involves working alongside Network Engineers, Technical Program Managers, Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers, and external vendors to ensure Google’s network remains reliable, scalable, and efficient.
You will play an important role in monitoring network performance, troubleshooting connectivity issues, implementing network changes, and maintaining operational documentation that supports Google’s worldwide infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network dashboards and alerting systems for network health and performance.
- Perform initial analysis and triage of network alerts.
- Troubleshoot wired and wireless network issues.
- Resolve routing, switching, firewall, and connectivity problems.
- Manage user-reported network incidents through the ticketing system.
- Keep stakeholders updated on issue resolution progress.
- Implement approved network configuration changes.
- Configure ports, VLANs, and perform software updates.
- Maintain network diagrams and technical documentation.
- Contribute to operational playbooks and knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 1 year of networking experience.
- Experience with network routing, LAN switching, and IP routing.
